Public Notice Regarding the Nye County Assessor’s Office
Action to Change Tonopah Addresses

During a regularly scheduled Tonopah Town Board meeting held June 26, 2024 the Town Board approved placing a question on the 2024 Nye County General Election ballot to allow residents to vote on whether or not they supported the address change project initiated by the Nye County Assessor. Unfortunately, the law also requires the Board of County Commissioners to approve the placement of ballot questions, and their next meeting was being held the day after the statutory deadline for placing questions on the General Election ballot.

The Assessor’s position is that this project will move forward in order to ensure prompt, reliable emergency service response and keep a constant and trustworthy single-best record.
