TONOPAH PUBLIC LIBRARY

RE-OPENING PROCEDURES

The Tonopah Public Library will be re-open to the public beginning on Monday, June 8th at Noon with the following policies in place, as recommended by the State Library.

  • Library hours have been changed temporarily to Monday through Friday, Noon to 5 pm.  Closed Saturday and Sunday.
  • We request that all patrons call in advance to schedule a 15 minute browsing session or a 30 minute computer session at (775) 482-3374.
  • Express printing will also be available by appointment.
  • The Library staff will not be handling cash at this time therefore all fines and fees are temporarily waived.
  • We will limit persons in the Library at one time (including staff) to 10 and all patrons will be encouraged to wear masks and to abide by social distancing markings inside and outside the building.

We have also taken the following steps out of an abundance of caution for our patrons:

  • Library Staff will wear masks and gloves while dealing closely with patrons.
  • We have installed plexiglass partitions around the staff desks.
  • We have installed partitions between the public computers.
  • We have installed markings to encourage social distancing.
  • When printed materials are returned to the Library, they will be quarantined for 72 hours prior to recirculating.
  • Library Staff will wipe all plastic items/DVDs with disinfecting wipes and will be disinfecting all surfaces on an as needed basis and at the end of each day.
  • During this time, public restrooms will not be available.

Please contact the Library if you have any questions regarding the foregoing.  We are excited to open our doors to our patrons!
