Sand Dune Rescue Training Comes to Tonopah – March 21, 2026
Nye County Search & Rescue and the Tonopah Volunteer Fire Department are teaming up to bring Sand Dune Rescue Training to the community on March 21, 2026. This hands-on training focuses on real-life rescue situations that can happen in our desert and dune areas.

Mass Casualty Incident (MCI) Training
The Tonopah Volunteer Fire Department will be hosting a 20-hour Mass Casualty Incident (MCI) Training on May 1, 2, and 3, 2026. Participants will take part in realistic simulations that build the skills, confidence, and coordination needed to respond quickly and safely during critical incidents.
