history and brings it to life with equipment, exhibits, and a
self-guided tour. The tour wanders throughout the property. All
buildings on the property are open for our visitors to enjoy and

The Central Nevada Museum occupies a unique place in the retelling of the annals of the West. The famous, not so famous, and infamous, all left their mark in central Nevada: film mogul and industrial magnate, Howard Hughes; prizefighting promoter, George "Tex" Rickard (who built Madison Square Garden); the founder of United Parcel Service (UPS), Jim Casey; lawmen, Wyatt and Virgil Earp;
the last woman to be executed in California, Barbara Graham; the first to find
silver in Tonopah, Jim Butler and many others are
represented at the Central Nevada Museum.

Tonopah Star Trails
http://www.tonopahstartrails.com
Tonopah has some of the darkest skies in the country and is rated the #1 stargazing destination in America by USA Today. And the darker it gets, the more you can see. A brilliant 7,000 stars on clean, moonless nights, to be precise. Not to mention the magical, swirling Milky Way. You can even see stars as faint as magnitude +7.0, which is out of the question in most places.
